as you may well know, the first vegas party of 2004 was in july... this year we're off to a much better start in the vegas scene! storm turned out to be an awesome party with lots of props and even snow! yay for theming! (i even got 2 lightning bolts!)
i showed up around 10pm and was sort of confused where exactly in the fort cheyenne the party was... the usual entrances were not in use by ravers, so after some driving around i finally found that the entrance was to the side of the building... there weren't too many people when i arrived, but as the night went on the place got a decent crowd! i wish the visuals had been on a white screen rather than a grey one because they were a bit hard to see... but juan had an awesome setup where he could actually project a view of the deejays spinning from a cam that was above the deejy booth! very nice... the bar area was quite small and squeezing in there was a bit of a hassle, but everyone put up with it so they could get their drink on... the deejay lineup was all local, which to me is a beautiful thing sincewe have such great talent within our scene! of the deejays i got to see, everything was sounding real nice... i was especially enjoying mark one, jayrod, and chris's sets... jayrod dropped this track i love that says something like "i'm a deejay innovata" whatever it's called, it's a great song! everyone was going crazy for it... then chris goes and drop here my name and call on me! i was so hyped up! and then the time came... time for me to spin... whew was i nervous, but once i got up there! let me tell you! i have never been happier or more pumped up than i was at that moment! i dropped a lot of old skool tracks and a few anthems... it was great to look out over the crowd and see most all of the people that mean more to me than anything else just dancing their asses of to my set! i closed out the second area, got my lightning bolts, and was outta there... thanx to all who came out and supported both the party and myself... the vegas scene has a chance to really come back and now is the time! so keep coming out and support your local deejays and promoters! parts of last night took me back to the good old days or raving and nothing was more awesome than those good old days...
