Hippie Groove
K's Review

wow... this was a surprise.... the rave was called harmony and was thrown by hippie groove and ebeats... i hadn't heard much buzz about this party, but how could i pass up a nice 2 hour set of happycore (which ended up lasting a lot longer than that!) so SeRaPh picked me up around 7:30 and we headed to home depot to look at some stuff we needed to buy, then to the party venue... the venue wasn't the now-standard fort cheyenne events center, but rather a new venue which i later learned was leased by kevin from ebeats and rob from hippie groove... the party got started a bit later than the 8pm time posted on the info line, but when they finally started letting people in, there was little to disappoint! the venue was reminiscent of the candy factory and the masterdome, complete with main room and little side room :) in the side room, the *core deejays were tearing it up all night! it was nice to hear someone else spinning happycore so i could dance to it rather than be stuck behind the tables! not that i mind being stuck there, but it was just a nice change! i heard all kinds of old skool classics and some new skool that i liked a lot and all-in-all it was awesome! later on there were some deejays playing what i think you would call speed core and it was hot! it was SuPeR fast and SuPeR fun to dance to! the main room was large and, besides the "it sounds like i'm standing outside listening because it's so muffled" sound and some laser problems, was very accommodating! there was plenty of room to dance and some nice tagging on the walls... there were several moments where i just stopped and looked around and smiled at what we had :)

i want to wish kevin and rob much luck with this awesome new venue and thank them and their crews for such and awesome surprise of a party! there were some things that were not so great, but the overall feeling of the night was awesome!
