K's Review

Devil's Night 9 continued in the tradition of past DK events with tons of people showing up and good music abound! The night started off for me around 9:15 or so when they turned off the lights in the second area and P3ngo and I dropped our first track, Forever Hardcore! That song set the mood for the rest of our set and, as always, it was a pleasure spinning with Mr. P3ngo. Our choices in track selection contrasted each other well and overall the set came out pretty awesome. We closed out our set with Angel Eyes and Starr and Sixxx hopped on the decks. They brought their Arizona vibe with them and played an awesome set as expected. The crowd was good in the hardcore room, but like many Vegas events of late it was mostly people standing around socializing with each other and a small handful actually dancing their asses off.

As the hardcore wound down and the jungle/DNB took over I ventured out to check out the rest of the party. The chill area was nice and, well, chill... They had some cool art featured up there so I spent a bit wandering around and checking things out. The main area finished up the costume contest around the time I got done looking around upstairs and the beats returned as I proceeded back downstairs. I didn't spend a lot of time dancing in the main area, but it looked like people were having fun in there. I made my rounds, found some friends I hadn't seen in awhile, and spent some time talking with them when Juan ran by saying the party was over. It seemed a bit odd at 1:55am for the party to be ending, but apparently there was some cop drama with the excuse of "noise complaint" to shut the event down.

All in all, it was a fun night while it lasted! Thanks to Chad for continuing to throw events... Without him we would have only had 1 real event this year!
